Blogging will be intermittent the next couple of weeks, as opportunities for Internet may be few and far between in Liberia. We’ll be headed to the diamond and gold mining areas, where I hope for better luck than last time (not to mention some good, old-fashioned fire-eating).

Try to stop by and see the new President of the University of Liberia Dr. Emmet Dennis. He was just named after serving for many years at Rutgers. He would enjoy the show of support.

  2. I don’t have any professors that do field work so excuse me if this is a stupid question… but what are your students going to do?

  3. you and he are there at the same time, but my guess is he’s not going to be in the gold mines… have a productive trip!

  4. Actually you can by a USB data receiver for your laptop from one or more of the cell phone companies. It’s slow but it gets the job done. Watch out for the caterpillars! (You can run but you can’t hide on both counts.)
