I occasionally hire part-time research assistants. If you are looking for work, please email me with a CV and transcript. Please also describe your proficiency working with data or programming. Generally my work is data intensive and I seek out students with advanced statistics skills.
Full-time positions in the US and abroad
I have both US-based and internationally-based staff. When needed, I advertise for positions on my blog and on Twitter. You can subscribe to make sure you get the posts.
I also draw on applicants to Innovations for Poverty Action and the Poverty Action Lab. You should apply there, to the many research assistant positions available.
What do I look for? At minimum strong statistics training and top performance in a degree in social science. Preferably, people with actual research time with data or in the field, great recommendations, plans for graduate school, and a good knowledge of statistical analysis, STATA, and R.
Most of all: self-starting go-getters who will work their brains out in difficult places.
