• The NYTimes’ Nick Kristof writes about the new and very real findings in Science about helping the ultra-poor, in “The Power of Hope” today. On the Development Impact blog, there’s a very good analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the study by the great Ben Olzer.
• Kiva co-founder Matt Flannery is starting up a digital bank in Kenya hoping to target people in their 20’s and 30’s with loans from $20-$1000. It will use data on user transaction histories for lending decisions.
