That is rather useless, given that (1) the earth is round, (2) that north and south are arbitrary concepts – just imagine the whole thing “upside down”: http://andreasmoser.wordpress.com/2011/02/01/upside-down/ and (3) that an average of geographical spots explains and illustrates nothing.
A lot of activity seems to have been going on in the Polar Sea. I doubt that.

As per this graph the center happens to be the Afghanistan and Pakistan border back in AD1 to AD 1000. Interesting.
