Is there a Muslim disadvantage in economic integration for second-generation immigrants to Europe? …a Muslim candidate is 2.5 times less likely to receive a job interview callback than is his or her Christian counterpart. A high-n survey reveals, consistent with expectations from a correspondence test, that second-generation Muslim households in France have lower income compared with matched Christian households.

  1. This was considered common knowledge in my experience living in France. Anecdotal, of course, but still telling.

Good research, though yielding results no more surprising than how the right wing will spin them: Muslim households in France earn less income than matched Christian households because Muslims are less capable than Christians, and Muslims’ relative incapacities reveal themselves on job applications.
