Above link has some conclusions which may be of interest to your readers. Easterly has a section, One Day in Bogota, in his Tyranny, which refers a lot to Hirschman.

Waiting to see if Professor Easterly will join. If he did it would signify the end of the expert and top down planning and triumph for his school. I doubt that he will as it is not quite up his street. It looks revolutionary whether he joins or not.
And there are some pretty big names on the list. It is not obvious how they are going to organise themselves. I saw many names from ODI and CGDEV. Do they resign and go set up something else or can they keep their current job. It would seem that conflict within development orgs must arise.
Also, it must be an output resulting from all the discussion on sustainable development goals. It has resulted in a focus, not only, on what is wanted, but on how to achieve.
Surely it is the end of development as we have known it and an admission of lack of success.
As for me I’m just going to keep giving cash transfers to the bottom billion missing out all the theory. These folks are flat broke and need the cash.
