Did New York City NYPD profiling policy serve as a beacon for police in Turkey? My take on profiling is that it’s fueled by paranoid feelings. In the streets profiling has always been used by laypersons to assess their surroundings with judgment based on feelings. Professional profiling techniques gets distorted once they are implemented in practice and are overtaken by emotions. At this point is where paranoia kicks in irrespective of the persons socio and economic background. This is why I say that profiling is fueled by paranoia.
