The resurgence of the West African coup d’etat?

No president has ever completed a full term.

That is Guinea-Bissau, where there has just been another coup. From the NY Times.

In the last three years alone, there have been at least six political assassinations, including of the president and the army chief of staff in 2009, and three attempted coups, including this week’s.

I have seen data and papers on coups up to the mid-2000s, but nothing that brings in the last three years. Has there been an upward tick? Reader pointers welcome.
