Science just one small step away from actually creating the Pillsbury Doughboy?

In just a few weeks single-celled yeast have evolved into a multicellular organism, complete with division of labour between cells. This suggests that the evolutionary leap to multicellularity may be a surprisingly small hurdle.

Is this a prelude to intelligent bread life? If so, the only thing we can accept with confidence is a future ethnic war between rye bread and the baguette.
