And you call yourself an Africanist! That said, Bob thought I was living the life of luxury because I could take a hot bucket shower or a cold shower from an actual showerhead in my flat.
Ah, you will speak nostalgically of them one day to your friends as they look at you with a blank stare and try to figure out what you mean. The only people who will truly understand you are friends who have visited and worked or lived in Africa for any length of time
