I am switching away from Google’s Feedburner service. This is the service that, for the past five years, has channeled my blog’s RSS feed out to those who read without coming to the site. It has also served those who sign up for email updates.
Unfortunately, Google bought Feedburner then put it out to pasture. Time to push back to my regular feed, new and improved. I don’t expect any interruptions in service, but who really knows.
If you want to start or re-establish service, just look up at the right corner of this page. That little mail icon will sign you up for email updates. That little orange icon with curves will get you the RSS. Apologies if this switch causes you any trouble. My next post will probably be Monday.
@cblatts What are you now using for your RSS?
I’m also thinking about making the move away from Feedburner. How did you manage the switch and what service are you using now? Thanks, Peter
Your post assumes I am reading the post on your actual webpage. When you wrote “just look up at the right corner of this page” I started looking in the upper-right corner of Google Reader. Your post is confusing to the people who it is most clearly directed at.
Of course it’s not hard to figure out.
Just an update for readers who read via RSS: Yes, indeed, the old Feedburner RSS feed does not work. It’s official. You have to use the new one in the top right-hand corner.
RIP, Feedburner.
