Seldom do I stop to listen to the NYC subway bands. Never do I stand there slack-jawed and talking with other rush hour riders about how ridiculously talented a band sounds.
They are the unfortunately-named Moon Hooch. Here’s a recent video capture:
If I had to pick the sound, I’d say it’s house music with a drum set and two saxophones. But I won’t pick the sound.

worst name ever.
I don’t know about calling that house music though – pretty sure it’d be classified as jazz. Agreed that they’re good however.
My favorite part is the guy hollering, “Now that’s music!” as they fade to black.
