I am keen to let readers know about some of the more interesting development and international political research going on in the newest crop of academics. If you think your dissertation topic might be of interest to blog readers, send me your best chapter or paper.
Here’s a guide:
Yes, please send papers on:
- Economic development
- Political change and conflict
- Foreign relations
- Humanitarian aid
- Behavioral economics
Please, please, for the love of Jove, no:
- American politics
- Financial market derivatives
- U.S. credit crisis
- Post-post-post-modern critiques of the hegemonic discourse involving a totalizing reduction of the field of the infinite play of meaning with respect to institutions of “foreign aid”
I like these topics (well-maybe not the hegemonic discourse one) but there are 743 other blogs on the subjects. One must fill one’s niche.
Senders note: Please send semi-permenent and public links to a PDF, not the paper itself. I won’t mention all submissions (especially if I get a big response) but will look at all.

Since I am not a doctoral student, I’m curious just how people get their job market papers or theses noticed? Is it done via social marketing and networking? What is the likelihood of there being a great paper unnoticed from a lesser known school? From a non-American nor non-European school?
Unfortunately I am not feeling good enough to participate but I am definitely looking forward to reading some proposal and your comments. Great initiative.
Chris: are you hiring?
